Johnson Brothers ~ Ivory Tureen

This one is lovely. Comes with small bowls to serve the soup.

There’s nine bowls altogether.

You’ll find the word England engraved onto the bottom of the bowl. It’s 3.5inches/9cm in diameter and 2 inches/5cm deep.

the mouth is 9 inches/23cm in diameter and adds another half an inch where it bulges. Handles on each side. I know this is no less than fifty years in age… vintage.

I have only one piece of this.

J & G Meakin ~ Sunshine

This emblem is behind the finger plate, the teapot and saucers. SUNSHINE R 561073 REG SOL 391413 J & G MEAKIN ENGLAND. However through my search for this model, I find many models with the same emblem. My conclusion is, this is not the only one bearing the name sunshine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Behind the cup it is tagged with an engraved J&G Meakin, England.

Ivory in colour, it has green line at the side and middle all round the piece also a gold lining. It is plain with no extra design on it. Nice and elegant.

This comes in a set of six (06). Preferably all goes in a set.

A teapot with cover (1), saucers (6), cups (4 good 1 broken handle) and finger plates (6).

The teapot:

Full height with cover almost 6.5 inch, spout to handle - 10 inch, just the body – 6 inch
teapot opening - 8cm

Another 7 inch plate

Don’t know it’s name either. Searched the emblem but could not find anything close… if you do know, please share.

on the back of the plate is the emblem, a crown with three startburst.
